News & Events MTC study finds Bay Area transit is "unsustainable" The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) recently issued a report on the Bay Area's more than two dozen transit systems, which concludes that totaled together the systems will need an annual subsidy of about $1 billion/year for the next 25 years in order to survived.
