News & Events CTC approves P3 project for Golden Gate Bridge approach On May 20, 2010, the California Transportation Commission (CTC) approved a public-private partnership (P3) project called Presidio Parkway, which will dramatically improve the southern approach to the Golden Gate Bridge. The project is co-sponsored by the San Francisco County Transportation Agency and Caltrans. CTC's project approval was only possible because of the passage in 2009 of SBXX 4, which authorizes the use of P3s to deliver important transportation projects in California. ACEC California strongly supported the passage of SBXX 4. By using P3s projects can be delivered faster and more efficiently, and public agencies can transfer risk to the private sector and reduce overall project costs. Presidio Parkway was the first P3 project to be brought before the CTC under SBXX 4.
