News & Events CEOs rank California’s business climate dead last The Chief Executive magazine recently conducted its sixth annual survey of more than 650 U.S. private company CEOs and asked the CEOs to rate states on "a wide range of criteria from taxation and regulation to workforce quality and living environment." The CEOs ranked California at the bottom of 51 jurisdictions, even below Washington D.C. (whose inclusion brought the total to 51).
